'In a world of hate, love is the revolution' and the harder it is the more it is needed. It is not weakness to be kind. It takes courage to stand apart. It takes resilience to withstand the unkind parts of the world and keep trying to make loving choices. But we get to choose, every day, from family to neighbours right up to your country and all the people in it, we get to decide. These are my resistance colours.

This ombre, reminiscent of embers, has a lot going on! A base of tonal orange transitioning to fire red then has two colours of speckles run through with heavy black speckling, light black speckling and then red speckles up to the orange. With the lustre of the fibre this gives a wonderful effect of movement under the light, the way even the most gently burning charcoal is never still.

These silky singles bases, both the DK and 4ply, are stunning to work with. Incredible cloud like softness, a great balance between elasticity and drape and strength from the silk with no need for plastics. These full beautifully after washing and are great for colourwork as they are very forgiving of any little tension changes as well as shining with lustrous colour. Never used singles before? Give them a try! They give you a world of opportunity, singles alone have a soft stitch definition and conform wonderfully to the body but you can also mix singles with plied yarns or use them double (two singles or a sinlges and a plied) to really play with the texture in your piece. If you're spinning inclined you can also ply your singles to get the combination and twist you like.

Recommended care: This is Superwash Merino, Superfine/Baby Alpaca and Silk so can be machine washed at low temperatures (cool or cold) on a handwash or gentle cycle but we recommend hand washing as Alpaca is prone to felting and to keep the dye looking it’s best. Wash inside out for best results.

While we do our best to keep our colours consistent each hand dyed yarn is one of a kind so we advise alternating skeins in a multi-skein project. See FAQs for more information.
